National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” is one of the oldest and most prestigious technical universities in Ukraine. The university was founded in 1885 and is widely known for its strong engineering, technology, and scientific education.
The university is located in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and is officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. NTU “KhPI” offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degree programs in engineering, computer science, information technologies, economics, management, biotechnology, and many other technical fields.
The university is considered one of the leading technical institutions in Eastern Europe and prepares specialists in more than 100 study programs. Modern laboratories, scientific research centers, libraries, and innovation facilities help students gain practical and professional experience during their studies.
NTU “KhPI” actively cooperates with international universities and participates in scientific, educational, and exchange programs with European institutions. The university also welcomes international students from many countries around the world.

The main aim is to provide foreign citizens with educational services for entering the HEI, and to ensure international cooperation of the University.

for specialists of higher qualification under 69 specialties.
Scientific-and-Research Library
contains over 2 million books, fulfills documentary and information-and-bibliographic support to research and learning university processes, and provides students and researchers from HEIs and research institutions of Ukraine with the whole complex of library services free.
Inter-branch Institute for Post-Diploma Continuing Education
Within a post-diploma education system it provides specialists with an opportunity to receive a new qualification, a new specialty or a profession basing on the education and working experience obtained before.
Scientific-and-Research Planning-and-Design Institute “Molniya”
carries out scientific researches in field of high-voltage equipment and magnetic-pulse metal processing.
Scientific-and-Research Ionosphere Institute
carries out scientific researches of ionosphere in natural and artificially perturbed states as well as of neighbouring space.
Information and Computing Center
coordinates the over-all complex of activities in informatization of all spheres of the University functioning.
Scientific-and-Technological and Learning and Training-and-Production Centres
produce equipment for researches and experiments according to individual orders made by the University departments to carry out scientific research works and support the training process.
Military Registration Board
According to the Articles 35-38 of the Law of Ukraine “About the military obligation and military service”, enterprises, establishments, organizations, and education institutions, regardless of their subordination and ownership forms, should keep records of all persons liable and enlisted for military service; and their heads (owners) are in charge for this registration records, and should watch over the fulfillment of the military registration rules by those liable for military service.
Military Sergeants College
trains professional sergeants for Armed Forces of Ukriane.
Museum
The laboratory for studying and preserving historical-and-cultural heritage of Ukraine and the NTU “KhPI”.
Key Dates
Standard Admission:
1 of October – application deadline (request an Invitation to study).
25 of October – arrival deadline (the final date you must arrive at the University).
Late Admission:
30 of January – application deadline (request an Invitation to study).
25 of February – arrival deadline (the final date you must arrive at the University).
There are no application deadlines (request an Invitation to study).
But you have to arrive at the University during the 6 months after you have gotten an Invitation.
1 of May-15 of August – a period when the Preparatory Department does not accept new arrivals.
Admission Process
First stage (before arrival):
1. Request the University for an Invitation to study in Ukraine.
2. Collect all required documents for getting Student Visa for Ukraine.
3. Notify the University about your arrival date and time. It is a must requirement! In case you don’t do that, the University will not be able to send a Confirmation letter to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. As a result, you will be you will be banned from entering the country and you will be sent back home right from the Ukrainian airport.
Second stage (after arrival):
1. Bring the required package of documents to the University.
2. Pass an interview on the main subjects of a chosen specialty (e.g. Math, Chemistry etc.) if necessary.
3. Make a payment for the study and hostel.
4. Pass a medical examination.
5. Open a bank account.
6. Temporary residence permit for students in Ukraine.
