National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is a state university in Poltava and one of the oldest and best-known universities in the Poltava region. It was founded in 1930 as the Poltava Institute of Agricultural Construction, later became Poltava National Technical University, and in 2019 it became a classical university with its current name, honouring the space-flight pioneer Yuri Kondratyuk.
Today the university brings together about 10,000 students from all over Ukraine and around 30 countries. It trains specialists in architecture and construction, oil and gas, information technologies and robotics, energy, finance, economics, management and law, as well as humanities, psychology, education and physical culture and sport — at Bachelor, Master and PhD level.
Most programmes are taught in Ukrainian. Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies is taught in English for international students.
International students apply for an invitation through the official Ukrainian portal apply.studyinukraine.gov.ua with their education document, passport and a photo. Admission can be done in person or remotely, with an online entrance interview.
The university’s preparatory department (since 2004, more than 700 graduates from almost 40 countries) teaches Ukrainian and the core subjects before the main studies, in engineering, economics, medical-biological and humanities directions. Education documents must be apostilled or legalized and translated into Ukrainian. We help you with every step.
Tuition can be paid in parts — monthly, per semester or per year — or for the whole study period at once. The university has also decided not to raise tuition fees despite inflation.
The campus has 5 dormitories with free Wi-Fi, a canteen and a café, a medical centre and a student sanatorium. For sports there are 4 gyms, a stadium, 2 artificial-turf fields and the “Vorskla” health camp. The Students’ Creative and Cultural Centre includes a brass band, a circus and theatre studio, dance groups, and student radio and television.
