Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) is Ukraine’s oldest and leading classical university. It was founded in 1834 as the Imperial University of St. Volodymyr and today is a national research university at the heart of Ukraine’s science, education and culture.
KNU teaches almost every field: humanities and languages, history, philosophy, law, international relations, economics, journalism, psychology and sociology, mathematics, computer science and cybersecurity, physics, chemistry, biology, geology and geography, as well as medicine. Its graduates include many leading Ukrainian scientists, statesmen and cultural figures.
For international students KNU offers English-taught programmes in philology, international law, international business and economics, and medicine, as well as Ukrainian-language programmes designed especially for foreigners. The main building on Volodymyrska Street is one of Kyiv’s best-known landmarks.
International students apply with their education document, passport and photo to receive an invitation to study, then apply for a study visa. Admission to English-taught programmes requires a good level of English.
We help you with every step.
KNU has its own student campus with dormitories in Kyiv.
