The Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Academy of Music — the Lviv Conservatory — is a state music academy in Lviv and one of the most prestigious arts universities in Ukraine. It is the oldest higher music school in Ukraine and one of the oldest in Eastern and Central Europe: its roots go back to the music societies of 19th-century Lviv, and the Conservatory of the Galician Music Society opened in the 1850s. It received national status in 2007.
The Academy trains professional pianists, orchestral and folk instrumentalists, conductors, singers, composers and musicologists, combining academic traditions with modern approaches to artistic education. Many famous figures of Ukrainian and world musical culture studied here. The Academy has its own opera studio, a library and a research laboratory of musical ethnology.
International students apply for an invitation to study with their education document, passport and photo. Admission includes a creative audition in the chosen speciality.
