Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts

Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts is a state higher education institution under the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. It was founded on 8 April 2002 in Luhansk as the Luhansk State Institute of Culture and Arts and has carried its present name since 2012. In 2011 the Luhansk Regional College of Culture and Arts became part of the academy, so its artistic and teaching traditions in the region go back more than ninety years.

Since 2014, because of the occupation of Luhansk, the academy has worked in Kyiv, where its teachers continue the school’s artistic traditions.

At higher education level the academy trains musicians and stage performers at Bachelor and Master level. Its Professional Art College also offers professional junior bachelor programmes in music, fine arts and restoration, choreography, stage arts, audiovisual arts and socio-cultural activity.

Programmes are taught in Ukrainian.

Applicants send their education document, passport and photo to receive an invitation to study, then apply for a study visa. As at all art schools, admission includes a creative competition (audition) in the chosen speciality.
