Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUOG) is a state technical university in Ivano-Frankivsk, western Ukraine. Founded in 1967, it is Ukraine’s leading university for the oil and gas industry and trains specialists for the whole oil and gas complex: drilling, production, pipelines and storage, petroleum geology and geophysics, and oil and gas machinery.
Today about 10,000 students study at its institutes and faculties, which also teach energy and electrical engineering, automation, IT, mechanical engineering and automotive transport, ecology, economics and management, and humanities. The Institute of Architecture and Construction “IFNTUOG-DonNABA” continues the work of the relocated Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
The university has a Center for International Education and a preparatory department for foreign citizens. Most programmes are taught in Ukrainian; a Master’s programme in information technologies for sustainable energy engineering is taught in English.
International students apply for an invitation to study through Ukraine’s unified system for foreign applicants, then apply for a study visa. Bachelor and Master admission takes place twice a year (applications until 1 November and 1 March). Applicants must know the language of study well enough; those who do not can first study at the preparatory department.
