PhD studies for international students are taught in Ukrainian only.
Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (IFNMU) is a state medical university in Ivano-Frankivsk, in western Ukraine, under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. It was founded in 1945 as the Ivano-Frankivsk State Medical Institute and today has national university status.
IFNMU trains doctors, dentists and pharmacists. Its faculties include Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences and a separate Faculty of Training of Foreign Citizens. Students gain clinical experience at the university clinic, the dental centre and partner hospitals of the city and region.
International students can study Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in English or in Ukrainian. All three programmes are accredited.
International students apply online through Ukraine’s unified system for foreign applicants with their school certificate, passport and photo, receive an electronic invitation to study and then apply for a study visa. Admission is based on an entrance exam in biology and the language of study (English or Ukrainian).
