Dnipro State Medical University (DSMU) is a state medical university in Dnipro and one of the leading medical universities in Ukraine. It trains doctors, dentists, pharmacists and scientists for the healthcare system and is known for its high level of teaching, modern clinical facilities and long experience in teaching international students in English.
The university was founded on 15 September 1916 in Katerynoslav (today Dnipro). Over more than a century it developed from a classical medical school into a modern scientific and educational centre — later known as the Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy — and in 2021 received its current name. It preserves strong academic traditions while actively integrating into the international educational space.
International students study Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in English or Ukrainian; Medical Psychology, Therapy and Rehabilitation, Public Health and PhD studies are taught in Ukrainian.
International students apply for an invitation to study with their school certificate (with grades in biology and chemistry), passport and photo, then apply for a study visa. Intakes are usually in September and February.
