The National Medical University named after O. O. Bogomolets (NMU) in Kyiv is a state national university and one of the oldest and most prestigious medical universities in Ukraine. It trains doctors, dentists, pharmacists, medical researchers and other healthcare specialists, combining fundamental academic education with practical clinical training in the country’s leading medical institutions.
The university traces its history to 1841, when the medical faculty of St. Volodymyr University in Kyiv was founded. It carries the name of the physiologist Oleksandr Bogomolets, honouring his contribution to medical science and education, and today continues these traditions with active research, international cooperation, its own university clinic and dental medical centre, and a medical simulation centre.
International students study Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in English or Ukrainian at the Faculty for Training of Foreign Citizens.
Admission of international students is possible in person or remotely. For 2026, applications for the first year were accepted from 19 July to 31 October. To receive an invitation you need the application form, a copy of your passport and of your previous education document with transcript (with notarized Ukrainian translation) and a consent to data processing. Entrance tests are oral exams (biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics, English).
