The National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport (NUPESU) in Kyiv is the leading state university in Ukraine for physical culture, sport, health and rehabilitation. It trains highly qualified coaches, teachers, physical therapists, sports managers and scientists, cooperates actively with international sports organisations and takes part in the preparation of world-class athletes.
The university was founded in 1930 in Kharkiv as the State Institute of Physical Culture of Ukraine, moved to Kyiv in 1944 and received national status in 1998. Over its history it has become the country’s main scientific and educational centre for sport and physical education; its graduates include Olympic champions, honoured coaches and well-known scientists who shape the modern system of physical culture and sport in Ukraine.
Besides classical coaching and physical education, NUPESU offers modern programmes such as Esports, Fitness and Wellness, Kinesiology, Dietetics, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Sports Management and Choreography.
International students apply for an invitation to study with their education document, passport and photo, then apply for a study visa. Admission to sports programmes includes a test of physical abilities.
A one-year preparatory department teaches Ukrainian and core subjects. We help you with every step.
