Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University (ZSMPhU) is a modern, multidisciplinary state university with the highest (IV) level of accreditation and autonomous management. Its history goes back to the Higher Women’s Courses organised in Odesa in 1903. In 1959 the institution moved to Zaporizhzhia as the Zaporizhzhia Pharmaceutical Institute, in 1968 it became the Zaporizhzhia Medical Institute, and in 1994 it received the status of a State Medical University.
In 2022 the university was established in its current form as the successor of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University and the Zaporizhzhia Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. Today it trains doctors, dentists, pharmacists and specialists in rehabilitation, laboratory diagnostics, medical psychology, biotechnology and cosmetology — from Bachelor and Master to PhD, internships and advanced training of doctors and pharmacists.
International students study Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy in English or Ukrainian; the other programmes are taught in Ukrainian.
International students apply for an invitation to study with their school certificate (with grades in biology and chemistry), passport and photo, then apply for a study visa.
