National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya (VNMU) is a state national medical university in Vinnytsia, in central Ukraine. Its history began in 1921, it received university status in 1994 and national status in 2002. The university is named after Mykola Pirogov, the world-famous surgeon and scientist.
VNMU has trained international students since 1961. At the Faculty of Foreign Citizens, Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy are taught in English. The university also offers Ukrainian-taught Bachelor programmes (nursing, optometry, physical and occupational therapy, psychology, public health, nutrition and more), Master programmes in Pediatrics, Psychology and Public Health, and PhD studies.
International students apply for an invitation to study with their school certificate (with grades in biology and chemistry), passport and photo. After the invitation letter is issued, the student applies for a study visa at the Ukrainian embassy.
